You get to experience a memory from her perspective, spanning from entering class and hearing Kaito jabbering on about Kid, to yelling at him that she won't forgive anyone who enjoys making fun of other people. This is an especially vivid memory, with exceptionally vivid feelings, powerful enough that it might take you a minute to shake it off after – she feels a lot and she feels hard, especially when it's something she's this passionate about.
She jolts up from her slump … but with none of Korone's honed, potentially dangerous reflexes or easy grace. The front page of the newspaper is revealed in the process: "The Infamous 1412 has announced his next heist! Tonight, at the old clocktower -"
You may also catch a glimpse of bandages wound around her wrists, and notice that, on closer inspection, she's ... the wrong way around? As if she's a living, breathing reflection.
"Bakai —" Wait. She focuses on you … … and blinks, bewildered, with no sign of recognition in her eyes. "... Oh, I'm sorry! Must have fallen asleep again. Are you a new transfer student?"
But then she smiles, bright, welcoming, "Oh, don't worry about me! I'm fine. Welcome to Class 2-B, Hamato-kun! Are you settling in well? How are you finding it all so far?"
She's still got her elbow on the paper, so while he can touch, he can't pick it up. "Oh, did you wanna see?" She makes a face down at it, "Please don't tell me you're a fan of that guy ..."
Wow, Hamato Otome, you sure know how to make a girl happy — she grins,
"Oh wow! Really? Are you a detective?"
And she shifts her weight onto her other arm, freeing up the newspaper for him to take. "Go ahead. Ugh. That guy, he's infuriating, I swear! Running around stealing this and that, it's like he gets off on giving good, honest people a hard time."
I'm not not a detective. [They do sometimes investigate things!] It's a little quasi.
[He will pick up the newspaper to look it over.]
It does seem to be that kind of petty thing. I have to deal with annoying magician who can't even be stable in his wants. Sometimes it's just to establish he's a good magician. Other times it's wealth or power or I think he was trying to raise the dead once? Also he doesn't even know chess. Just pure ADHD in his deal.
"Ohh, I see!" Huh. Maybe this person has other ties to law enforcement ...? Like her?
... Raising the dead, though, what even -
"ADHD? What's that?"
Now that you're able to look at the newspaper properly, you get another one of those exceptionally intense memories, covering the whole beginning scene in the classroom. This time even moreso than the mop - you might need a minute or two to remember that you're you.
"Hamato-kun!" She takes her hand off the desk, crouches by him. Follows through with her attempt to reach out and touches his elbow worriedly. "Can you hear me? Do you need me to see the nurse?"
"I̸̤͛ ̵̗̏ see ... if you're sure." She's! Still concerned! "Well, you can take all the time you need to feel better! Class isn't due to start just yet. And besides, Kaito gets away with goofing off and snoozing on his desk all the time, and his only excuse is that he's an idiot. You can count on m̷͖̀e̵͚̾ to make sure nobody bothers you!"

[Oh, a lot of feelings.]
[Flapping his hands, tearing up because SO MANY INTENSE FEELINGS]

And to think, you want to try an empathy bond -

[Okay. Okay. Shake shake shake.]
[Wipe at eyes.]
[Okay.]
[Turns to the girl.]
Choco?

One: There's something Off with her appearance, aside from her age and her lack of wings.
Two: There's a newspaper under her folded arms.
She doesn't stir.

[Hand on her shoulder. Trying to see the paper.]

…
The desk rattles faintly.
And she puts more weight on it.

She scrambles to her feet, one hand still on the desk — which gives another, more violent rattle — and the other reaching out toward his elbow.
Her legs are covered in crisp white bandages.

Somebody's hurting, she has to —
"Hamato-kun!" She takes her hand off the desk, crouches by him. Follows through with her attempt to reach out and touches his elbow worriedly. "Can you hear me? Do you need me to see the nurse?"

[That's him.]
N-no. Touch. M-m-minute.

She jerks her hand back quickly. "Sorry!"

[Taking a minute to calm himself down, and wiping at his eyes.] Eugh.

When he finally lowers his hands from his ears, she tentatively perks up. Oh, but —
"Hey ... " She fishes out her handkerchief, gingerly offering it to him. "You okay?"
no subject
Yes. Just a.....flashback. [It's kind of true???]
